Nominations Now Open for ANGMA Committee and Executive Positions
We are pleased to announce that nominations are now open for positions on the ANGMA Committee. This is an exciting opportunity to get involved in shaping the future of neurogastroenterology in our region and help grow our multidisciplinary community!
Executive Committee Member Elections
Five current members of the ANGMA Committee are eligible to re-nominate. We are also seeking new nominations for these five positions. If more than five nominations are received, a formal election will be held.
In keeping with our constitution, at least two of these committee members must be clinical practitioners, and all committee members will serve a two-year term, starting November 2025 to October 2027.
We strongly encourage applications from across our diverse membership, including clinicians, scientists, trainees, and members from all states and territories.
Two New Committee Positions for Early Career Researchers
In addition to the five committee roles, we are excited to announce two new ECR executive positions:
1 x Clinical ECR representative
1 x Basic Science ECR representative
These roles will help ensure that early-career perspectives are embedded in ANGMA’s strategic direction. Both new ECR positions will begin with a 1-year term, with continuation to a 2-year term to be decided.
To be eligible for the ECR executive roles, nominees must meet the same criteria below:
Being within 5 years post-PhD (at the time of application closing), or
Being a current PhD student, postgraduate research fellow, advanced trainee in gastroenterology, basic physician trainee, or postdoctoral fellow in neurogastroenterology and motility.
Career disruptions will be taken into consideration.
How to Nominate
To nominate for either a committee member or ECR position, please email Dr Marlene Hao (president@angma.org.au) by 25 September.
Your email must include:

If more nominations are received than positions available, an election will be held online. All ANGMA members will be notified of the voting process once nominations close.
Please consider nominating or encouraging a colleague who could contribute to ANGMA’s future. We welcome your voice in advancing neurogastroenterology in Australasia.
