Marcello Costa Award: Applications open soon

We are honored to announce the Marcello Costa Award, established in memory of Prof. Marcello Costa (1940–2024), a pioneer of Australian neurogastroenterology whose groundbreaking research and mentorship shaped the field.

Prof. Costa’s legacy of scientific excellence and dedication to fostering young researchers will live on through this award, made possible by his generous $12,000 donation to our society before his passing. Aimed at supporting early career researchers, the award will be $2,000 per recipient, with applications for the first round opening this year. Four early career researchers will be invited to speak at a dedicated session at the ANGMA 2025 conference, and one recipient will be chosen by a special panel. Applications will open with abstract submissions, coming soon.

We are deeply grateful for Prof. Costa’s contributions and look forward to honoring his impact by supporting the next generation of neurogastroenterology researchers.
